TMC GROUP

Training and Management Consulting Group, Inc.

Our Methodology

TMC Group’s success has come as a result of a proven methodology executed with care and diligence by skilled and knowledgeable professionals. The six components of our process are:

Research and Needs Analysis
Our diagnostic and practical approach to research forms the foundation for our working relationship with clients. Our consultants examine the strengths and weaknesses of the organization through direct communication with management and key employees. This investigation provides valuable information about the business environment/culture and the critical factors and competencies necessary to achieve business goals and objectives. This approach includes a thorough analysis of business/sales strategy, core competencies, the factors that influence decision-making, and the skill and knowledge sets that can contribute to success within the business environment. Using this analysis, we then provide recommendations that include strategies and/or training to meet the client's objectives.

Feedback and Discussion with Management
A formal report is prepared and presented (verbally and/or in writing) to management, identifying all aspects of the business problems, issues, and core competencies with recommendations. Appropriate TMC Group resources are then identified and a project plan is created.

Design, Development, and Delivery of Consulting and Training Programs
Based on research results, and in accordance with the project plan, a program is designed to meet the specific business needs and performance goals of the organization. For each training program, a design document is developed, specifying learning objectives, sequence of events, key content, media, learning activities, and performance assessments. Upon review and approval by management, the project plan and/or training design document serves as the blueprint for program development. For projects that include the development of training (e.g., slides, instructor’s guide, participant’s workbook, video scripts, case studies, etc.), materials are submitted to management and subject matter experts for review.

Design, Development, and Delivery of Training for Management
In many instances, successful change, business improvement and/or job performance requires some corresponding changes in management skills, knowledge, and practices. In such cases, a management level program is designed and developed to support the attainment of our client's business goals and objectives.

Team-Building
To support the desired changes in business culture, team-building is often required to help make sure that the new way of doing business becomes accepted at all levels of the organization and that each area cooperates effectively. TMC Group consultants will facilitate formal and/or informal team workshops, meetings, or discussion sessions as needed and indicated by the research to effect the desired change in the organization. The objectives of this component are to help management and employees recognize the interdependencies inherent in any work process and to encourage the development of effective team behaviors to meet goals.

Follow-up Training/Implementation Recommendations and Programs
The greatest challenge associated with organizations implementing any change is the lack of follow-up. Effective follow-up compels the organization to apply business strategies, skills, and knowledge to their work situations. For that reason, TMC Group always recommends a follow-up component to ensure that any business initiative is part of an ongoing process rather than a short-term event. At the end of each project, TMC Group assesses the business environment, human resources, and corporate culture versus the desired goals and then makes appropriate recommendations to management on how to reinforce and manage the change.
